Betty Jane Cheek 
"Grandma Darling"
August 20, 1924 - January 20, 2005

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, from 8 a.m. 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. 8 
p.m. at Bakersfield Family Funeral Home, 701 34th Street. Funeral services 
will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 25 at Bakersfield Family Funeral Home 
and will be laid to rest at Hillcrest memorial. 

Betty was born August 20, 1924 in Masontown, PA and passed away January 20, 
2005. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Cheek; son, Clyde 
Owen; and daughter, Debra Kay.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Cooper, Fran Giulietti, and Teri 
Elliott; her son, Roger Cheek; her sisters, Alverta Hiles, Sally Lytle, and 
Evelyn Franovich. She is also survived by grandchildren she adored dearly: 
Kenneth Cooper Jr., Michael Cooper, Cheryl Kyner, Lisa McDaniel, Donald 
Giulietti, Jody Giulietti, Anita Wolf, Tawnya Cheek, Sonya Cheek, Kimberly 
Cheek, Edward Elliott Jr., Miranda Willingham, Angie Richardson, Salvador 
Arredondo, and David Arredondo; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-
grandchildren.

Betty was one of the most loving and giving mother, grandmother, and friend. 
She was a true picture of unconditional love; she gave of herself without 
expecting anything in return. Betty was loved by so many.

We would like to thank everyone at Beverly Manor for taking such wonderful 
care of our mother. 

Betty made so many new friends there; they came to be like an extended family 
to her. Betty will be greatly missed by all.
