Petronila Castaneda 
"Little Grandma"
May 31, 1919 - January 20, 2005

Recitation of the Rosary will be held in Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 
2739 Panama Lane and Hwy 99 on Sunday, January 23, at 7 p.m. and Mass of 
Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E. 
California Ave., on Monday, January 24, at 9 a.m. for Petronila Little Grandma 
Castaneda, 85, who passed away January 20, 2005. Father James Catalano will 
officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. 

Mrs. Castaneda was born on May 31, 1919, in Sauceda, Coahuila, Mexico and 
resided in Kern County for 52 years. She was a homemaker for 60 years. Her 
favorite pastime was going to La Montana.

Mrs. Castaneda was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Castaneda in 1971; 
son, Juan Castaneda and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Castaneda; great grandson, 
Frankie Cosme; and sister, Antonia Saldana. She is survived by her son and 
daughter-in-law, Jose and Loraine Castaneda; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth 
(Cuca) and Daniel Padilla and MaryLou (Licha) and George Zaragoza; 20 
grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and her 
only living brother, Victor Leija.

Casket bearers will be Robert Subia, Joey Castaneda, David Castaneda, Danny 
Padilla, Benny Aleman, and Adam Castaneda. Honorary casket bearers will be 
Freddy Saldana and Freddy Castaneda.

Visitation begins today at 4 p.m.
