Orville was born on Feb. 3, 1917, in Greenup County, Ky. to Daniel Boone and Virginia Emory. He married Alka Van Hoose in Ohio on April 20, 1942. They moved to the Mojave area in 1962. Orville loved working as a carpenter in the construction industry, especially working with his sons. He thoroughly enjoyed travelling, making numerous trips to Kentucky and Ohio. Orville also enjoyed gardening and playing cards. He was truly devoted to his family and church. He also had a passion for biscuits and gravy and strawberry milkshakes. Orville is survived by his oldest children, Gary Emory, Roger Emory and Mike Emory, all of California City, Janet Garrett and Lois Hunter, both of Tehachapi, Edward Emory of Mojave, Pat Kulrich of Tehachapi, John Emory of Lone Pine; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife Alka in 1997. Pastor Elder F. Walter Petree III officiated at the service. Interment followed at the Mojave cemetery.
