Erdman Mar. 7, 1911 - Jan. 24, 2005 Chapel services for Frank M. Erdman will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Frank was born on March 7, 1911, in McKittrick, CA and passed away on January 24, 2005, in Ridgecrest, CA. He retired from Kern County Parks & Recreation Department in 1973 as Supervisor of Parks. Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Irene M. Erdman in 1977. He is survived by sons, Richard C. Erdman and wife, Susan of Inyokern, CA and Philip M. Erdman and wife, Janice of Clovis, CA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Frank Erdman was the son of Peter Max Erdman, original founder and owner of The White Star Mine, south of Ridgecrest, CA. Frank built the original rock house at the White Star Mine at the age of 19, the house still stands today. The house was rented by the U.S. Navy in the early 1940s and plans for the China Lake Naval Weapons Center was coordinated there. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
