Diffey and Dana S. (Glass) Diffey. He moved with his family to Blythe, CA in 1923 and then to Kern/Tulare counties in 1926. Lester was a WWII veteran serving with the 2nd Armored Hell On Wheels Division. He fought in the invasions in North Africa, Sicily and at Normandy on D Day. He was Post Commander of the American Legion in McFarland in 1946. Lester loved Rock Hounding, which led to his job as a Consultant for Mining. Throughout his life he enjoyed many business ventures, painting, writing short stories and poems. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Delois Goodwin, brother, Norman Diffey and daughter, Dana Lee Bird. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Diffey; sisters, Ruby Bishop of Tehachapi, CA and Nella Mae Sturgeon of Placerville, CA; niece, Donna Roberts; grandchildren, Tonya Santens, Monique Weese, Rick Vassar, Jada Alexander, Susan Gianetto, Crystal Bird and thirteen great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Home Health Care and Odyssey Hospice for their special care given to Lester. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, River Blvd. on Friday, January 28, at 10:30 a.m. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
