Clark Jan. 23, 1941 - Jan. 24, 2005 Gary Clark passed away at his home in Penn Valley, California, following a long battle with cancer. Gary was born in Coalinga, CA to Maurice and Rosalie Clark. He graduated from Taft Union H.S. and Taft College, followed by four years at Long Beach State on a football scholarship after declining an offer to play baseball for the Pittsburg Pirates. Following college Gary worked in the oil and gas industry in various capacities in locations including California, Colorado, Louisiana, Alaska, New Mexico and France. He completed his working career in October 2000 as a self- employed oil and gas consultant in Farmington, New Mexico and then retired to the gated community of Lake Wildwood in Northern California in January 2001. Gary loved all types of hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He also thoroughly enjoyed several years of coaching youth football in Southern California. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharron; daughters and sons-in- law, Debbie and Ken Alder of Bakersfield and Kelli and Vince Brown, all of Bakersfield.
