Dora was a licensed Beautician and a devoted Homemaker. As a young single mother, she always provided for her young children. She was stern, in her own loving way, to instill within her children the proper morals of life. Through it all, she was a wonderful mother and was extremely loved by all her children. She had a witty, sense of humor, with enlightenment, and was always there to help when in need. To this moment, words could never say it all. Loving her and missing her are John, her husband of 40 years and her four children: daughter, Lydia and husband, Ernie Alvizo, their son, Ernie Jr.; son, Fred and wife, Delia, their children, Amber, Aaron, Arel, and Adriel; son, Mike Martinez; son, James and wife, Crystal, their children, James John and Faith. Dora is survived by brother, Alfred Duran and his wife, Lola; sister, Carmen Sanchez; sister, Magda and her husband, Tony Vasques; sister, Olympia Duran and sister, Armida and her husband, Roque Barreraz. She will truly be missed by all her nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors. The family would like to especially thank, Dr. Edward Brown and his estuary of colleagues; the doctors and staff of nurses at the Mercy Hospitals; Greenlawn Mortuary and Saint Frances Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Rosary/Mass will be held on Thursday Feb. 3, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Frances Church, 900 H St. The Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in Whispering Pines at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd. No visitation is scheduled.
