Maria Teresa and her husband, Jose Oscar along with 9 children and one on the way, immigrated to the United States in January 1964. The Family then settled in Ventura that same year, five years later they welcomed their 11th and last child (one less than the number of children she always dreamed of having). Maria Teresas passions were love for her family and her incredibly deep devotion to her Catholic faith. As a devoted wife and mother, she dedicated her life to raising her 11 children and spending time with her 20 grandchildren. She was a graceful woman, beautiful, both inside and out, who gave not only to her family but also to her friends and those in need. She enjoyed playing and teaching the piano, sewing, cooking and traveling, especially home to visit Uruguay and to their second home in Tehachapi. Maria Teresa is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jose Oscar; sons, Juan (Penny), Danny (Denise), Rick (Barbara), Alex (Kathy), Louie, Leo (Monica); daughters, Quica Höelek (Rick), Terri Stone (Doug), Ana Elliott (Rod), Tonia Bailey (Greg); grandchildren, many friends and neighbors. Maria Teresa was preceded in death by her eldest son, Jose and grandson, Kyle Stone. A Rosary and Vigil will be held Friday, February 4, 2005, 7:00 p.m., at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, 757 E. Main St., Ventura, CA (805) 643-8623. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 5th, at Sacred Heart Church with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite Catholic Charity or hospice organization. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Evan Slater, Dr. Michael Swartout, Linda Hare, Laura Sierra and all of the Hospice caregivers.
