Chiquita A. Hughes passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2005, in 
Bakersfield. Born in Santa Anna, Texas on April 28, 1938, she was preceded in 
death by her parents, George and Thula Ralston; her sister, Nel Webber; and 
her daughter, Michelle Diaz. 

Chiquita is survived by her husband, Robert L. Hughes of Bakersfield; 
daughter, Debby Rogger of Ogden, Utah; granddaughter, Alyssa Diaz and father, 
Gerry of Alhambra, California; stepchildren, Scott and Jennifer Hughes and 
their daughters, Nicole and Diana all of Ventura, CA; stepdaughter, Marianne; 
second cousin, Sue Armstrong and her mother, Mary Rainbolt of Fort Worth, 
Texas. She will also be remembered by her many close friends in Bakersfield 
and Kihei, Maui.

Chiquita enjoyed golf and fishing. She excelled in home décor and was known 
for her excellent cooking. She continued to tempt those around her with her 
delicious soups to the very end.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the american Cancer Society.

A memorial service will be held at Grenelawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 
Panama Ln., Saturday, February 5, at 10:30 a.m.
