Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, 2005, 12:00 noon til 7:00 p.m. An 
hour of meditation will be held tonight from 7:00 8:00 p.m. in the Jesse E. 
Cooley, Jr. Chapel for Mrs. Nettie Jane Williams, 93, who passed away January 
28, 2005. 

Services are Friday, February 4, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. 
Rev. H.T. Calhoun officating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

On the afternoon of January 28, 2005 our beloved grandmother passed away 
peacefully in her home with her family by her side. Though we will miss her 
terribly we thank God for giving us such a wonderful and beautiful woman to 
love and love us. She accepted Christ at a very young age and has been a 
member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church since moving to Bakersfield in 
the late 50s. Mama Nettie was best known for her kind and generous nature. She 
never met a stranger. She retired after forty years of service as a care 
provider. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Judy Gray; three sisters 
and three brothers, her husband, Samuel Henley and daughter, Pearlie B. 
Johnson-Hodges. She leaves to cherish her memory two granddaughters, Brenda 
(Fred) Orange, Jeanette Johnson; six grandsons, William (Alice), Bruce (Joann) 
Hodges, Marc (Debra) David (Delores) Dereck, James (Beverly) and a host of 
great-great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
