Brundage Lane for Lillie Mae Avriett. 90, who departed this life January 29th. The Rev. Joe Washington, Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church will officiate with inerment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Avriett, a native of Hudspeth, Arkansas was born February 8, 1914 and was educated in the local schools in the area. She used her education to establish a janitorial service, a second hand store and a service station. She and her husband, Frank Oliver Avriett, moved to Bakersfield in 1948, and was an active member of St. Emanuel Baptist Church serving in many capacities. In addition, her other affiliations included being a charter member of Enoch Grand Lodge AF & AM, Inc., Lilly of the Valley Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star and a retired foster parent to over 100 children, mother and grandmother to all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Oliver Avriett and a daughter, Frankie Mae Avriett-Williams. Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Ollie Jones; a daughter, La Tanya James; grand-children, Sonia Jeffery-Hogg and Henderson (Kojak) Porter Jr. of Bakersfield; 15 grand-children, Clady Womack and family, the Motens, 30 great- grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Visitation will begin at 12 noon today in the chapel. An hour of meditation will be held from 5:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. Jesse E.
