Chester Ave for longtime Bakersfield resident, Peggy Joyce Alexander. Pastor Franklin Davis will be officiating at the services. Peggy was born on April 22, 1931 in Saint Louis, Missouri and she passed from this life on June 30, 2004, in a Bakersfield hospital. She was 73 years old. Peggy loved to square dance and she was active in the Republican Party. She was self employed as an estate planner. She was a loyal employee of Roger Lori where she served as funeral and pre-need counselor at Kern River Family Mortuary and West Side Family Mortuary in Taft. In her younger years she was a television model in Reno, Nevada. She also raised standard poodles and was a vocalist for a swing band. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Sue Sullivan of Missouri and Pat and her husband, Zig Laizans of Reno, Nevada; sister, Lois Ann Waller of Arizona; grandchildren, Jimmy and Riley Adams of Reno, Nevada; special friends, Rachel Holtz and Janet Wardlaw both of Bakersfield; and by several other family and friends who will so deeply miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Mallory in 1988 and by her daughter, Lisa Mallory Adams in 1998. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 12 until service time. There will be chapel services held on Thursday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m., at the Masonic Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Reno, Nevada, where she will be buried.
