Fairfax Road on Tuesday morning July 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Brent was born and raised in Bakersfield. He atended Col. Nichols Elementary School, Chipman Jr. High School, and Highland High School. Growing up he enjoyed keeping snakes and lizards, target shooting and hunting, camping, riding mini-bikes, hiking, fishing and doing all kinds of outdoor activities. Brent worked with his Dad at Oxleys Interiors for many years and he always took pride in quality workmanship. He was very meticulous and he was never satisfied unless the job was done just right. With Dad and Moms encouragement, Brent trained to be a plumber in the last few years and when his partner suddenly passed away, he went into the business on his own. Until his sudden illness, he was enjoying his new venture and building a solid reputation for himself because he still was very concerned about providing excellent service to his customers. Brent is survived by his two sons, Jacob and Seth; his parents, Pat and Elmo Oxley; his sisters and their husbands, Pam and Tom McBrearty, Karen and Bob Brown, and Denise Simpson-Miller and David; his special friend, Cindy Munoz and her children, Kelsi, Mark, Elisa and Elina; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. He has given us many memories to cherish and a realization of just how blessed we were to be a part of his life. How we wish we could have had more time. The family wants to express their deep appreciation to Hoffmann Hospice for their much needed support and assistance and to Cindy Munoz for her loving care and constant attention to Brent during these last very difficult months. He was able to spend those last days at home where he wished to be because of her willingness to be his caretaker. In lieu of flowers, Brent wanted us to accept donations for Cindy Munoz and her children to help them through this very difficult time in their lives.
