Shearer January 20, 1927-February 2, 2005 Graveside service for Oris H. Shearer will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park. No visitation is scheduled. Oris Hiram Shearer was born on January 20, 1927, in Marmaduke, AR to James A. and Edna Warbritton Shearer, and passed away on February 2, 2005, in Bakersfield. Oris moved to Bakersfield in 1942 and attended East High. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and received an Honorable medical discharge in 1946. While still in high school, Oris worked for United Engineers Shipyard in Alameda, CA, East Side Cleaners, and Oilfield Trucking. He was owner and partner with Bakersfield Diesel Service from 1961 until his retirement in 1983. Oris is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James H. Shearer; sons, Jerry D. and Michael D. Shearer. Survivors are his loving wife of 58 years, Faye Jackson Shearer; son, Ronnie D. Shearer and wife, Sheila Jean; brother, Kenneth O. Shearer; sisters, Willie Sue Bebout, D. Faye Shearer, Norma A. Biggs; and 8 grandchildren. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
