Lan Tuey Pon

Lan Tuey Pon, 87, passed away on February 2, 2005. Lan was born on December 
22, 1917 in Canton, China. After her marriage to Song Pon in China, she came 
to the United States in 1947 with their son, Kenny. She resided in Bakersfield 
for 58 years working at Silver Lake Laundry, the family owned business. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Song, and eldest son, Kenny. She is 
survived by Kennys wife, Susie Pon and their children Arnold Pon, Bertina Pon 
and her husband, Ken Lee, and Clara Koo and her husband, Patrick Koo; their 
daughter, Betty and her husband, Rodolfo Hurtado and their children, Ilana-Joy 
Hurtado and her husband, Charles McDaniels and Brandon Hurtado; daughter, Ling 
Shimizu and her children, Renee and Steven Shimizu; son, Thomas Pon; daughter, 
Jean Pon and her husband, Alex Beramendi; son, Art Pon and his wife, Deborah 
Cottingham; and her great-grandchildren, Kylila and Kylar Lee.

Services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005, at McAvoy-OHara, 4545 Geary 
Blvd., San Francisco, CA, at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 1150 S. Bascom 
Ave., Suite 7A, San Jose, CA 95128, or the American Cancer Society, 201 
Mission St. #720, San Francisco, CA 94105.
