Frank attended local schools, St. Marys High School, St. Marys College in Moraga, UC Davis and Armstrong Business College in Berkeley. He returned to Bakersfield to work as treasurer-accountant at Sill Properties. Frank worked for over 65 years with his brothers, Ben, Hugh, Jack and Charles. In 1940 he married Claire Clerou. They had four children. After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII he returned to Bakersfield to raise his family, which he did with great pleasure. He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his family and friends, especially at Shaver Lake. Frank was well known among the local handball players, playing well into his seventies. He married Adele Beechinor in 1987, and was extremely fortunate to have the love and care of two wonderful women. Frank was a devout catholic, an uncomplicated man of few words, and loved a good dinner with guests, where he could have a good political or religious discussion. He had his opinions and always shared them with his children with their best interst in mind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Benjamin; his wife, Claire, of forty-five years; his son, Michael; his brothers, Dan, Ben, Jack and Charles. He is survived by his wife, Adele; brother, Hugh; daughter, Patricia Cobb married to Raymond and sons, Joe Sill married to Vicki, and Tim Sill married to Jane; daughter-in-law, Lynne Sill; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Doughty-Calhoun OMeara Mortuary on Thursday, February 10, 2005 from 1-8 p.m. The Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Craig at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street on Friday, February 11th at 9:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Michael, Eric, and Jeffrey Sill, Brian, Daniel and David Cobb, Joseph, Danielle, and Dominic Sill, and Jim Sill. Honorary pallbearers will be Romain Clerou, Jim Burke, Walt Berry, Raymond Cobb, Skip Ulbrich, Duffy Sill, Bob and Bill Beechinor, Jack Smith and Pierre Freeman. A special thank you to all who assisted in caring for Frank. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catherine Ann Sill Scholarship Fund at Garces Memorial High School or St. Francis Church.
