Funeral services celebrating the life of Felix R. Ortiz Sr. will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at San Clemente Mission following burial services at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. Felix was born on September 7, 1920 in San Angelo, Texas. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, he began his career as a plumber, helping to build Orange County, CA during the 60s and 70s. He retired in 1977 and has been living in Bakersfield since 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, sister, and his wife, Juanita Hernandez. He is survived by his sister, Trinidad Palomo; daughter, Yolanda Heath; and three sons, Felix R. Ortiz Jr., J. Marcus Oliver, and Felix R. Ortiz Jr. of another marriage. He will also be missed by his 5 grandchildren who loved their Papa very much.
