Jean passed away February 12, 2005, in Bakersfield, California. Jeanne was born July 26, 1919 in Burlingame, Iowa to Dorothy and Lynn King. She met Eddie Coffee on a blind date in Taft and they were married June 19, 1937. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Eddie Coffee, her son, Stan, her mother, Dorothy Randles, stepfather, Guy Randles all from Taft, and her father, Lynn King from Lakeside, Colorado. Jeanne was an active member of the Taft Emblem Club and the Past Presidents Club. She was also a member of the Westside Oil Museum. She was usually in charge of the decorations due to her talent for art and home décor. Being a politicians wife, she was a woman of strength in her own quiet way. She was a kind, sincere and a wise woman with great intellect; conversations with Jeanne were always very stimulating and entertaining. Jeanne was the core of information regarding history and geography. When she and Eddie traveled, she would research the places they were going, so she was able to make the trip extremely fascinating for all who went along. She took her children to almost every mission in California. She loved to play golf and socialize with her friends. Most of all, she had a great sense of humor with a quick and clever wit! She is survived by her daughter, Dorean Hosking of Bakersfield; sister-in-law, Jane Kirkpatrick of Taft; her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Leland Scott, Peggy Hosking, Kellie McDonald, David and Valerie Hosking, Jennie Clark, Christa Coffee, and Allen and Cressa Coffee, 17 great- grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her! A special thanks to all who assisted in caring for her at Mercy Hospital, Health-South, and Optimal Health, especially Peggy Browning, R.N. Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
