His son, Rev. Rudy E. Alva will officiate and interment will follow in Union Cemetery. He was born to Maria and Trinidad Alva in Delano, California. He married Alice Reza on February 14, a Valentine wedding that lasted a day short of 40 years, and raised three sons, Rudy, Manuel Jr., and Mark. Manuel Alva was an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served in prison ministry for 28 years at Tehachapi State Prison, Lerdo Road Camp and various other institutions. He baptized over 400 men in the name of Jesus Christ. He was elder of Community Christian Center and long time member of the Apostolic Assembly. His lifelong ministry touched thousands of lives. Manuel retired from Kern County Mental Health in 1991 where he worked as a mental health counselor II. He was the owner/broker of Many Alva Realty and spent over 30 years in the real estate business. He was preceded in death by his father Trinidad Alva and two brothers, Rudy and Felix Alva. Manuel is survived by the love of his life and wife, Alice Alva; his three sons, three daughters; and 12 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till 8 p.m., Wednesday in the Mission Family Mortuary.
