Vera was born the seventh of ten children born to Hardy and Dora Bonebrake. She was born at home on a farm just outside of Abilene Texas. By age nine, her parents had moved the family to Sarcoxie, Missouri, and while in her teens they moved to Joplin Missouri. By 1942 most of her family moved to California, which is where she met and married CB Loper in 1959. They moved back to Bakersfield in 1962. Vera was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ. All nine of her siblings have gone before her, and she recently lost her husband CB in February 2004. She leaves behind five grandchildren, five great- granchildren, one great-great granddaughter, two nephews and one niece. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, on July 8, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
