Oren served his country during World War II in the Mighty Eight Division of the Army Air Corps, successfully completing 30 bombing raids during the Normandy, North France, and European Air Offensive campaigns. On October 11, 1943, Oren married his love, Doris Louise, in Alexandra, Louisiana. After World War II, Oren continued to serve his country in the Air Force for an additional 20 years, until retiring in 1966, having reached the distinguished rank of Chief Master Sergeant and earning many awards for excellent service. Among Orens numerous awards, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Presidential Unit Citation, the EAME Ribbon with three Battle Stars, and the Korean Service Medal. Following his time in the service, Oren accepted the position of Transportation Manager for MacDonald Douglas, where he worked for ten years. After leaving MacDonald Douglas, Oren and Doris moved to the San Bernardino Mountains where they enjoyed twenty happy years of retirement. Oren and Doris were married for 56 years until she passed on February 12, 1999. He is joining his beloved wife, Doris; his sister, Betty and his brothers, Raymond and Clarence. Oren will be remembered and cherished by his many friends and family including his twin brother, Loren; his two loving sons, Terry and Raymond; his eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., at the Highland Church of Christ with Pastor Regan Walters officiating. Private interment will be next to his wife, Doris, at Riverside National Cemetery. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
