Mary Lou was born to O.G. & Hazel Miller of Maricopa on August 15, 1923. She attended all Maricopa Schools. She worked in the Oil Industry for Bankline, Honolulu, Tidewater, Getty as a gas accountant and was active in Desk & Derrick and served one term as president. She later worked as a legal secretary while living in San Luis Obispo in the 70s, before moving back to Taft in 1983 where she worked a while, before retiring for the 3rd time. She and her late husband Ralph were active in Westside Christian Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; brothers, Delos Miller & his wife Glenda, and Roger Miller; sister Esther Snedden & her husband Bert; and son-in-law, Ed Hanawalt. Mary Lou is survived by her sons & their wives, Terry & Patsy Williams and Ralph Jr. & Kathy Williams; daughters, Claudia & her husband David Press and Linda Hanawalt; nine grandchildren & their spouses, Ed & Sherry Hanawalt, Don & Julie Hanawalt, Greg & Lisa Williams, Jeff Williams, Jennifer Hoyt, Ryan & Desiree Hoyt, Justin Hoyt, Nathan Williams and Christopher Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole Hanawalt, Chelsea, Devon & Trey Hanawalt, Danielle & Matthew Williams and Kelsee Hoyt; one great great-granddaughter, Emma; sister-in-law, Louise Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 10 at 10:oo A.M. at Westside District Cemetery in Taft, followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Westside Christian Center, 207 Tyler St., Taft, with a luncheon following In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Lous name to Westside Christian Center, 207 Tyler St., Taft, CA 93268.
