Wallace Services: Friday, July 9, 12:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 9, 2004, in Bakersfield at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3700 Union Ave., for Ruth K. Wallace who passed June 23, 2004. Reverend William Eckhardt will officiate. Ruth was born in Fresno and had lived in Bakersfield since 1955. She graduated from Fresno High and attended Fresno State College. Ruth was a housewife who devoted her substantial energies to a wide spectrum of volunteer organizations, including Bakersfield P.E.O., Chapter OU, where she was a past president and served in numerous other positions over forty years, the Womans Club of Bakersfield, Guild House, where she was one of the original members, Symphony Associates, Assistance League of Bakersfield, Kern County Historical Society, and Bakersfield Republican Women. She and her husband, Willis Wally were active members of Northminster Presbyterian Church since moving to Bakersfield. Survivors include son, Raymond and his wife, Charlene of Bakersfield; son, Jonathan and his wife, Rong of Sherman Oaks; three grandchildren, Charla and husband, Patrick Reaney of Bakersfield, Charles Wallace and wife, Karilynne of Vandenberg AFB, and Robert Wallace and his wife, Crystal of Bakersfield; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John Kaupke of La Habra and sister, Elizabeth Callender of Camarillo and their families. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either of the above organizations, or to the charity of ones choice.
