Patricia (Pat) J. Olson
Jan. 18, 1928 - Feb. 17, 2005

Patricia J. Olson was born in Ramona, South Dakota on January 18, 1928 to 
William and Mary Dooley. She attended school in Ramona and then worked as a 
dental assistant in Madison, South Dakota. She married Marvin Olson on August 
12, 1946 and began raising their family of three girls and three boys in 
Madison. The family moved to Bakersfield, California in 1965. Pat was a 
homemaker until her children were grown. She was the manager of Tot Toggery at 
the Valley Plaza for 13 years and then assisted her husband in their insurance 
business until she retired in 1993. She was a talented woman and a great joy 
to her family and all who knew her. 

Her parents and her brother, Jerry, preceded her in death. She is survived by 
her loving and devoted husband, Marvin Olson; daughters Andrea Cummings and 
husband David, Patti Bumerts and fiancée Mike Brokken, Carol Sherrill and 
husband Ron; her sons, Brian and wife Sue, Tony and wife Valerie, and Kelly 
and wife Theresa; grandchildren David, Laurie, Alexa, Nikki, Patrick, Robyn, 
Julee, Katie, Seth and wife, Brooke, Kendra, Kaycee, and Jeanie; nine great-
grandchildren; sisters Joan Krantz, Colleen Freeny, Maureen Tolley, Sharon 
Olsbo; and brothers Eugene (Bud), Doug and Dave Dooley.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at St. 
Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Highway. Honorary pallbearers are 
David Cummings, Mike Brokken, Ron Sherrill, Bud Dooley, Stan Olsbo, and Doug 
Dooley.
