Martina Longoria de Contreras
Nov. 13, 1921 - Feb. 17, 2005 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at 10 a.m. at 
Tehillah Ministries (3515 Mt. Vernon Ave). A visitation will also be held on 
Monday, February 21, 2005, from 3 7 p.m., with a wake starting at 7 p.m. at 
Tehillah Ministries.

Martina was born in Los Yanitos, Municipio de Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, 
to Jose Maria Longoria and Rafaela Arballo Valdez of New Spain, Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Elias Martinez 
Contreras; and two of her eleven children, Eliodoro L. Contreras who died at 
three months old, and Rebeca L. Contreras who died at age two.

She is survived by nine children, Four Sons and Five Daughters, and their 
respective spouses: Reynaldo L. Contreras, Jorge and Ninfa Alanis, Arturo 
Contreras, George and Nilda Velasquez, Larry and Rafeala Dominquez, Mario and 
Minerva Ramos, Eliodoro and Consuelo Contreras, Elias Contreras, Jr., and 
Maria Elena C. Caraballo. Martina had 31 grandchildren; 43 great 
grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren, the youngest born 13 minutes 
prior to her passing, named Maykalee Renee Sanchez. 

Martina was very active and supportive of her family, friends, and community. 
Her strength and faith in God gave her long life and happiness among many. The 
legacy of faith, honor, and strength she leaves to her children is unmatched 
to none. She will be greatly missed, but more so greatly remembered as a 
pillar of faith.
