Stella was a resident of Bakersfeld for 75 years and was preceded by her husband, James M. Diaz Sr. who passed away on March 10, 2004. Stellas passion was her devotion to her husband and family of eight children. She dedicated her efforts to providing a nurturing home which included a deep devotion to God and The Lady of Guadalupe. Stella was first and foremost wife and mother. Her love extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her patience, smile, love of life and unconditional love for all those that entered her home. She joins those who went before her: her grandson, Chrsitopher Paul Cervantes; her husband, James M. Diaz Sr.; her son-in-law, Pat McFaddin and granddaughter, Jenny Cervantes. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Cervantes and Christina McFaddin; her sons, James M. Diaz Jr., Louis Diaz, Stephen Diaz, Lawrence Diaz, Gregory Diaz, Anthony Diaz; six daughters-in-law and one son-in-law; her 27 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. Her sons will serve as pallbearers to take Stella to her final resting place. Our mother, our grandmother, our great-grandmother left foot prints on our hearts and we are thankful that we will never be the same---we will be better.
