Larson Oct. 12, 1916 - Feb. 18, 2005 A celebration of Georges life was held February 21, 2005, in a private ceremony. Mr. Larson was best known by children in Kern County as a substitute teacher. George was born in Lankin, ND, on his parents farm. He later served in the army for WWII, as both a medic and a cook. His first wife, Marylou Praska, was responsible for urging him to go to college. Together, they traveled and taught until 1986. In late 1987, when George was widowed, he married Marilyn Ann Alger. George was a generous and supportive to Anns children, Deanna and Dean. He later became an instant grandpa to Chris and Lisa Ellis, Sandy Foxx, and Troy Whalen. Even with failing health, George wanted to be around friends and family, keeping his sense of humor. The Lankin, ND, American Legion will have a service for him in the Spring where he will be laid to rest with his original family. Georges strong presence, laughter, and jokes will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
