Gerry has gone home to glory, leaving behind his wife, Vonnie, of Killeen, TX; son, Keith and granddaughter, Kirsten of Bakersfield; sister, Kathryn Cherry and family of Bakersfield; brother Terry Yowell and family of San Francisco; and brother Earl Yowell and family of Fremont. Gerry was born in Bakersfield, and graduated from North High in 1968. He and his wife, Vonnie had made their home in Killeen since 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Geneva Yowell and sister, Darlene Fargo, all of Bakersfield. The most important thing that ever happened in Gerrys life was when he surrendered his heart to Jesus Christ as his savior early in 2004. Even though he only had a year of his new life in Christ, it was the best year because he and Vonnie served the Lord together as members of Grace Christian Center in Killeen, TX. A memorial service was held for him there on February 22, 2005. Before his death Gerry said, Remember I am only leaving this shell, but I will be with you all in your hearts.
