'Ed' Sheehan June 25, 1925 - February 27, 2005 Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Thursday, March 3, 1:30 p.m. for Edmond J. 'Ed' Sheehan. Msgr. Stephen Frost will officiate. Ed was born on June 25, 1925, to Timothy J. and Rose M. Sheehan, pioneer resident of the Earlimart area. He lived all his adult life in Bakersfield. Ed passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005, at Memorial Hospital, Bakersfield, surrounded by his family. Ed was a graduate of Delano High School, class of 1943 and was a World War II veteran. Ed worked many years in the oil field industry, for many years employed by R. B. Montgomery Drilling Company. Ed and his beloved wife Marjorie Combs of Bakersfield enjoyed 44 years of married life together. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Irene Fleming and her husband, Terry of Bakersfield, Barbara Dillard and her husband Bruce of Henderson, NV and Susan Luther of Bakersfield; step- daughter Dianne Appleton and her husband Grant of Medford, OR; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother Timothy Sheehan and his wife Ovel of Wasco; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, his first wife and one grandson. Ed will always be remembered as a man who loved his family and his dogs. He was a warm and caring friend to all who knew him. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors and staff members of the north wing of Memorial Hospital for the care and kindness given to Ed during his hospitalization.
