Charlie went to Heaven on March 1, 2005. He was born March 30, 1919, the first child of Peter and Ida Loeb of Sanger, CA. He went to work for Standard Oil of California in 1943. His career was interrupted by World War II. Charlie served in the Pacific Theater as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. He retired as a drilling superintendent from Chevron in 1979 having worked all over the world, from Iran to Scotland, Africa the Sudan, Spain and the North Slope of Alaska. He and his wife, Dolores, made many lifelong friends in their work and travels. He is survived by his four children, Robert and Barbara Loeb of Austin, Texas, Beverly Nelson of Bakersfield, Maurice and Pamela Loeb of Lincoln, Nebraska and Shirley Buddell of Taft. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Al and Eva Loeb of Bakersfield, Shirley Daving of Santa Rosa; brother, Ernest Loeb of Witsonville, Oregon and sister, Olga Mayberry of Santa Rosa. He was preceded in death in 1990 by his wife of 52 years, Dolores Loeb and his brother, Richard Loeb in 2001. Leading the graveside service will be Al Loeb, Gene Murch and Joe Dravis. Viewing will be held at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
