She spent most of her life in Kern County. She was married to the same wonderful man, who she adored, for 69 years. She was a woman well-known for her generosity and kindness. Her many family members remember Grans House for the smell of great cookies and constant laughs. She was always there to hear or offer advice. She told excellent stories. Clarissa dedicated herself to many interests throughout her life which included : Church, Young Homemakers, PTA and Dairy Maids. One of her passions was singing. She would spend many afternoons playing her organ and singing hymns. Recently her greatest joy was singing in the Senior Choir at Daybreak Baptist Church. Clarissa and her husband, Hershel had three children, Joanne (Deceased), Eileen and Bobby; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Velma. She was lovingly known to her many nieces and nephews as Aunt Pete. Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, March 4, 2005, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, Saturday, March 5, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service and reception at Daybreak Baptist Church, 5446 Taft Hwy. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Daybreak Baptist Church Senior Choir.
