He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruby. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 34 years, Paula Page; his three children and their spouses, whom he loved and cherished, Jerry and Britt Page, Cynthia and Steven Prince, and Marie and Ryan Herdt, all of Bakersfield. Steve was the best papa to three beautiful grandchildren, Dillon, Katlyn and Skyler Prince. Steve held a special place in his heart for his cousins, Vickie, Pat, Mike, Marylyn, and his Aunt Maggie. Steve, born in Lindsay, California, moved to Bakersfield in 1981 where he took a job as a plumber. He was a member of the Local 460, before establishing Cal- State Mechanical with his business partner, Eddie Gragg. Steve enjoyed golfing (especially with his favorite brother-in-law, Lloyd). He enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren fishing throughout the years. Steve was an inspiration and teacher to many, he enjoyed sharing his passion for cars with all who knew him. Steve was a second father to many, as he always offered and gave love and support to anyone that came through his door. He felt no greater joy than barbequing for a house full of people he loved. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We will always love, cherish, and remember him. We would also like to thank Dr. Kothary and Dr. Ashraf for all their help and kindness. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at 12 noon, at Hodels in the Kern Room. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
