Johnnie Wesley Teel
Nov. 24, 1920 – Feb. 28, 2005

A funeral service was held on March 4 in the Wood Family Funeral Service 
chapel for long-time Tehachapi resident, Johnnie Wesley Teel, 84, who passed 
away in Tehachapi on Feb. 28, 2005.

Johnnie was born in Burksville, Ky. on Nov. 24, 1920 to Luther and Bertha 
Teel. Much of his early life was spent in Oklahoma, which is where he met and 
married the love of his life, Edith. They were married on Feb. 19, 1948 in 
Pauls Valley, Okla. and remained husband and wife until her passing in 1991. 
They moved to the Tehachapi area in the early 50's, raising their children 
here while Johnnie worked at Monolith Cement Plant. He retired after 35 years 
of service, moving back to Oklahoma for a few years. Johnnie was a wonderful 
family man. He loved to fish, but that always came second to his family, 
particularly the grandchildren.

Johnnie is survived by sons, David Teel and his wife Mariana of Tehachapi, 
Ricky Teel of San Diego and Larry Snow of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Leslie 
Caudle, JoAnne Lantz, Shanna Teel, Noel Killingsworth and Jennifer and 
Christine Snow; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy Caudle.

Reverend Dale Sheley officiated at the service. Interment was held at 
Lightning Ridge Cemetery in Ada, Okla. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the 
arrangements.
