Fagan 1/19/1927 - 3/5/2005 John E. Fagan died peacefully at his home in Bakersfield on Saturday, March 5, 2005. John is from Cranston, RI and a graduate of Providence College. He served as a Merchant Marine during WWII, and was a decorated fighter pilot during the Korean War earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. John moved to Los Angeles, California in 1959 and was an Aerospace Executive until his retirement following completion of the Stealth Bomber Project. He then moved to Benicia, CA, living on his boat, the Sabre-Cat, and became an avid sailor, rediscovering his love for the sea. In 1998 John moved to Bakersfield, CA where he resided until his death. Beloved father and grandfather, John is survived by sons, Dr. John E. Fagan, Jr., Marc J. Fagan; daughter, Jennifer F. Gorman and grandchildren, Bonnie and Jeff Fagan, and Sean and Stephanie Gorman. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12th at St. Philip The Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., Bakersfield. Johns remains will be scattered at sea off the coast of Dana Point, CA at a later date. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
