Joseph was born on Feb. 5, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Penn. After graduating from Perry High School in 1965, he went to work in his father's coal yard. Joseph entered the military in 1968 where he served in the United States Army Medical Corps as a medical specialist at Valley Forge General Hospital in the operating room. After the military, Joseph started work in the construction industry, continuing in that field for the next 40 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 341 for 12 years and the remainder in the Operating Engineers Local 12. Joseph married his wife of 18 years, Anna Kozora on May 17, 1986 in Wampum, Penn. They moved to California that same year where he was employed by Granite Construction for many years. For the last few years, he worked for Griffith Company. Joseph enjoyed his work, his grandchildren, helping others when he could, and all the special times he had with friends RVing, 4-wheeling and taking jeep runs together. He will be greatly missed. Joseph was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Tehachapi Moose Lodge. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Anna Biegenwald of Tehachapi; son, Thomas Zmok of Portland, Ore.; daughters, Joeylyn Miller of Lisbon, Ohio and Frances Pedroza and husband Sean of Jackson, Wyo.; grandchildren, Paul and Lee Miller, Cynthia LaNeve, Skylar, Alexandria and Nicholas Pedroza, and Kayleigh Graleski; brothers, Albert and wife Linda, Frank and wife Joan, Carl and wife Kay, George and wife Berta, and Daniel Biegenwald; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Biegenwald, and brothers, Charles Jr. and William Biegenwald. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements.
