Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Greenlawn Mortuary. Rob will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 15th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, CA next to his oldest son, Robert John Gallaher. Rob was born on September 27, 1922, in Uniontown, WA to George and Mary (Martens) Gallaher. He peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, in Bakersfield, CA. Rob was a veteran of World War II. On June 18, 1949, he married the love of his life, Joyce J. Halterman, in Omak, WA. He moved his family to San Jose, CA in 1963. In 1983, he relocated the family to Bakersfield, CA. Rob was a contractor for many years in Washington State, San Jose, CA and Bakersfield, CA until he retired in 1993. Rob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce; their 10 children and their spouses, Teresa and John Lewis of Standard, CA, Joan Gallaher, Mary and Jay Beechie, Della Gallaher, all of Bakersfield, Patrick Gallaher of Fairbanks, Alaska, Dorothy Gallaher of San Jose, CA, Joseph and Roxanne Gallaher of Arvin, CA, Raymond and Nancy Gallaher of Bakersfield, Rachel and Mike DeMartino of Warwick, NY and Margaret Heath of Bakersfield, CA. Rob is also survived by 45 grandchildren; his brother John and wife Pat Gallaher of Texas; numerous cousins and many friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. We will always keep in our hearts how blessed we were to be part of his life, and he will stay with us always ornery as ever. In lieu of flowers, donations can be offered for Mass or made to Life Savers, 2428 H St., Bakersfield, CA 93301.
