He was a Captain with the Royal Army Ordinance Corps during WWII. John retired from Eli Lilly & Company as a Western Regional Sales Manager. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a fisherman of many years, and loved history and traveling. John was an honest, principled, caring, human being. He bravely fought the challenge of Alzheimers disease. John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doreen; son Michael J. Kohn and wife Carol of Bakersfield; sister Peggy Wilson of London, England; brother Leonard Kohn of London, England; granddaughter Christine Anne Deaner and husband Robert; great grandson Jack Robert Deaner and great granddaughter Ava Doreen Deaner. The family wishes to thank the staff at Glenwood Gardens Magnolia Court and Skilled Nursing Facility for their continuing and caring attention. Chapel Services will be held on Friday, July 16, 2004 at 10:00 am at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, CA. No visitation is scheduled.
