Attended county schools and graduated from Kern County Union High School in 1932. As a youngster, his family resided on Kentucky Street where Jack enjoyed the circus trains. His family then moved to the family farm on Fairfax Road where he and his 12 brothers and sisters grew up. He served honorably during World War II in the South Pacific. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and his mother, Mary Deuel; his sisters, Ruth Middleton and Flora Combs; and his brothers, Harry, Edwin, Jim, George, Frank and Fred. He is survived by his sister, Leah Powers; his brothers, Glenn, William and Lloyd; numerous nieces and nephews. Jack loved his country, his family, the family farm, his garden and building model aircrafts. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. No services will be held. We ask that in lieu of flowers send any donations to the Kern County Veterans Association, 1120 Golden State Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301.
