Anderson Private Services Ruby was born January 24, 1908 and raised in Illinois. She met her husband, John, while in High School. They married in 1928. His passion for farming and opportunities in California, led them to Wasco, CA. Farming with a team of mules in the early 30s. Progressing to owning one of the first cotton pickers in the country in the late 40s. John and Ruby, over the course of their marriage, had ten children. Ruby was a homemaker and avid gardener. However, she never limited herself to those activities. Ruby faced the numerous challenges that farming and raising children brought with tenacity and courage. Doing whatever was necessary to help keep it all working. Retired from farming after 75 years, John and Ruby became Snow Birds, spending half of each year in Montana, with son, Paul and his family. Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, John; and son, John Jr. Survivors include sons, Dwayne, Paul and Tom; daughters, Joyce, Mary, Rozana, Rebecca, Cindy and Cheryl; 20 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Laura and Steve of Hoffman Hospice for their support and care. We would also like to thank Beverly Manor of Shafter and Bakersfield for their extra TLC especially in those last weeks. Thanks also, to Dr. Yeh, her physician, for his special attention to Rubys needs. These are all truly special people. Ruby will be interred at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., next to her husband, John. No services are planned.
