Joseph was born on Nov. 7, 1923 in Superior, Ariz. He spent 59 years with his loving wife Agnes. They were married on May 30, 1945 in Yuma, Ariz. Theirs was a love so special it was obvious to everyone that it was a love truly blessed by God. Joseph was employed as an operations manager for Westinghouse until his retirement in 1987. The special times in Joe's life were spent with his family. He was a great gardener and loved to work in his yard. He could always be seen taking care of his flowers. He proudly devoted his time to maintaining what he called "God's Little Acre" at St. Malachy Catholic Church. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe was a gifted carpenter. He thoroughly enjoyed crafting yard art from wood. Joseph is survived by his wife, Agnes Garcia of Tehachapi; sons, Frank Joseph Garcia and wife Rachel of Ontario and Michael William Garcia and wife Frances of Tehachapi; daughter, Dolores "Cookie" Marie Ellis of Tehachapi; grandchildren, Mark, Robert, Andrea, Justin, Shannon, Stacey and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Annecy, Isabelle and D.J.; brother, Ralph Garcia, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters, Lily Cobol of Huntington Beach, Sophie Pliego of Rancho Cucamonga, Rebecca Martinez, Stella Fuentes and Alice Escara, all of Downey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Father Joel Davadilla officiated at the service. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to the deceased.
