Services will be held at 10 a.m. for Josue Elias Molina-Bonilla at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel at the Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary. He was 24. Bonilla died at home with his family early Wednesday morning after fighting leukemia and searching for a bone marrow match for nearly a year. "We knew he was going to pass but we didn't think it was going to be this fast," his sister Liz Molina-Bonilla said. "We just know that he's not suffering anymore and he is in a better place." Bonilla was born in Honduras and moved to Bakersfield in 1994. He graduated from Ridgeview High School in 1998. He liked to play soccer, watch movies and go fishing, his sister said. He spent four years in the Navy, including nine months in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. After his honorable discharge, he enrolled in San Joaquin Valley College to train as a refrigerator and air conditioning repairman. Survivors include his parents Vilma Bonilla and Emerito Molina-Bonilla; siblings Liz Molina-Bonilla, Telvis Molina-Bonilla, and Alba Molina-Bonilla; aunt Ruby Rios; uncle Mario Gueverra; and cousin Benjamin Gueverra.
