Penner May 19, 1928 July 16, 2004 Services will be held Friday, July 23, 11 a.m., at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA, for Ross E. Penner, 76, who passed away, July 16, 2004 in Modesto, California. Ross E. Penner was born May 19, 1928 in Dinuba, CA and had lived in Modesto for 32 years. Prior to that, he lived in Bakersfield for 10 years. Mr. Penner was in the Funeral Profession for 57 years and had been President of the Board of Directors of Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma, CA; Past President of the Valley Lode Funeral Directors Association (1995) in Stockton, CA; Past Manager of Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA for 7 years; Past Manager of Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in Modesto, CA for 19 years; Past Manager of Payne & Sons Funeral Home in Bakersfield, CA. His hobbies were fishing, his dogs, Pinochle, visiting the coast, especially Monterey. He was a member of Stanislaus Masonic Lodge #206 F.&A.M., Stockton Scottish Rite Bodies, AAHMES Shrine Temple, Modesto Shriners Club, Masonic Luncheon Club, Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Volunteer for Stanislaus County Sheriffs Dept. STARS Program. Survivors include his wife, Donna Penner of Modesto, CA; sons, Craig Penner of Mt. Shasta, CA and Keith Penner of Fernley, NV; daughters, Terry Penner of Modesto, CA and Melissa Klassen of Tulelake, CA. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 22, 4-8 p.m., at Lakewood Funeral Home.
