Saturday evening, Heaven opened its gates to its newest angel. Linda Allendorf passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband and son at her side. Linda was born December 20, 1938, in Bakersfield, California to Lynn Reed and Carolyn Tipton Reed; she would live her entire life in the Bakersfield area. Linda attended Standard Elementary, Standard Junior High, and was in the first graduating class of North High School in 1956; she would then go on to Bakersfield College where she would meet her future husband, Don Allendorf. Don and Linda were married May 22, 1959 and they would spend 45 happy years together. Lindas loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor have had lasting impact on everyone she has ever met. Her greatest joys in life were her family, friends, arts & crafts, and quilting; her fantastic handy work will be a living reminder of her immense talent and love. Linda also enjoyed traveling to visit relatives, going to Cambria with her great friend Norma, and camping with all of her other crazy friends. She was always there for us with an ear and potato chip cookies, to listen to all our problems and offer her great advice. She will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her father, Lynn Reed; and brother, Jimmy Reed. She is survived by her husband, Donald Allendorf; son, Aaron Allendorf; daughter and son-in-law, Vittoria and Brendan Mills; mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and William Peper; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Teri Reed; and grandchildren, Blake, ChloƩ, Bailey, Shay, and Ty. Heaven is now a much better place. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
