Beto was born on October 8, 1948, in Del Rio, Texas and raised in Bakersfield, CA. He went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 16, 2004, with his family by his side. Beto is preceded in death by his mother, Dora Ortiz, brother, Benny Ruiz Jr. and sister, Maria Elena Cervantez. Those surviving him include his loving wife of 29 years, Connie Cervantez; five sons, Perfecto Bo Cervantez Jr., Trinidad David Cervantez, Oscar Cervantez, Ruben Cervantez and fiancée, Chrissy Vasquez and Rene Cervantez all of Bakersfield; three grand-daughters, Angelique, Jessica and Charisman Cervantez; grandson, Isaac Castro; brothers and sister- in-law, Rolando and Julia Ortiz, Jesse Lugo Sr.; sisters and brother-in-law, Margie and Roland Salinas, Joann Ruiz and Leticia Garcia and numerous nieces and nephews. Beto will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, especially by his sister, Margie, who he would call everyday no matter what at least three times a day to see how she was doing. Beto had a big heart, he would joke around and talk to everyone even if he didnt know you. Thats just the way he was. Casketbearers will be Jesse Lugo Sr., Roland Salinas, Jose Canez, Carlos Ruiz, Mike Montijo and Manuel Montijo.
