Robert "Bob" Royce Voorhees
Services: Thurs., July 29, 10 a.m.

Graveside services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Bob Voorhees 
at Shafter Memorial Park (Santa Fe & Burbank St.), on Thursday, July 29, 2004, 
at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at Valley Bible Church, 350 Pine 
St., Shafter. Pastor Mike Polley will officiate. 

Bob Voorhees, age 74, was born March 8, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa. California 
has been his home since 1942. Bob retired as Sergeant from the Kern Co. 
Sheriffs Office after 24 years, and then started his own locksmithing business 
in 1989. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His 
greatest joy was spending time with his devoted wife, his grandchildren and 
his family. He enjoyed traveling.

Born to Royce and Peggy Voorhees, he is survived by his wife, Teddy Voorhees 
of Shafter; children, Lynn and Janet Voorhees of Berkeley, Scott and Sheryl 
Voorhees of Bakersfield, and Terri and Joey Roseberry of Tehachapi; 
grandchildren, Richard Steele, submarine service U.S. Navy, Groton, Conn.; 
Julia and Nick Voorhees of Berkeley and Jodi Roseberry of Tehachapi; sister, 
Donna J. Pell and husband, Frank and their children, Mark and Marcia, with 
whom he had a very special and loving relationship.

Special thanks to Bobs home church, Valley Bible of Shafter for their many 
prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley 
Bible Memorial Library Fund.
