He was born in Selma, California on March 30, 1910. He is preceded in death by his parents, A.T. Brewer and Myrtle Hamstrom; brothers, Dale, J.D., Danny and Lynn Brewer; sister, Bonna Hamstrom. Survivors are his loving wife, Shirley; daughter, Mari Brewer; stepson, Cary Brewer; stepchildren, Toni and husband, Ron Slinkard, Deanna and Don Sims, Andy Sanchez and wife, Terri, Dennis Sanchez and wife, Nanci. He also leaves several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; also his sisters-in-law, Barbara Gallup and husband, Ken and Margaret Brewer; nephews, Larry, Stan, Tim and Lauri, Allan and Beverly; cousin, Peggy Lynn Crow and husband, Bob. Muggs was a Corporal in the Marines at Midway during WWII with the 1086th Platoon from 1942-1945. Golf was his life and was a lifetime member of the Missing Links Golf Club. His baseball team was the Championship for Kern County in 1938-1939. He belonged to the Elks Club and American Legion. Muggs loved his dogs Snoopy and Chipper. He had many friends and was loved and respected by all. I give thanks to the Chaplain and Peggy and all the girls from Odyssey Hospice Care that took care of Muggs and for their support, help and kindness. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Odyssey Hospice or Elks Ladies or a charity of your choice. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. God said that you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you And whispered come to me. A golden heart stopped beating Hardworking hands now rest.
