She resided in Taft for several years before coming to Bakersfield in 1950. For 25 years she worked as a checker at Mayfair Market when it was located on F Street. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Soares. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Karen Kandarian; stepdaughter, Darlene Nelson and her husband, Randy of Los Gatos; brother, Ed Najarian of Bakersfield; brother, Hogan Najarian and wife, Jackie of Fowler, CA; and very special friend, Tommy Hart who kept her company and brightened her days at the Columbus Estates. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel was a longtime member of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union. For many years she enjoyed the activities of the Retail Clerks Retirees Club and Armenian Cultural Society. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Isabel to a charity of your choice.
