Interment will be private. Debra was born on November 14, 1954 in Upland, CA to Jessie and Richard S. Gomez and passed tragically away on June 15, 2005 in Bakersfield. She has been a resident of Kern County for all of her adult life. Debbie attended Highland High School, Bakersfield College, and California State University at Bakersfield. She was employed by the Bakersfield City School District as an Outreach liaison for Walter Stern Middle School and was actively involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Up on the roof yearly events as well as many other community projects. She is lovingly survived by her beloved daughters, Danielle Reynoso, Dara Serrano and her husband David, and the King of her Heart precious baby grandson, David Richard Serrano; her parents, Jessie and Richard Sifuentes Gomez of Bakersfield. She also leaves a brother, Richard Gomez and his wife, Kim of San Luis Obispo; 2 sisters, Lorraine Gomez, Loretta Valles and her husband, Ray; 6 nephews, Anthony Richard Gomez, Frank Anthony, Daniel and Aaron Aguilera, Robert Jr, and Joseph Abraham Zuniga; 6 nieces, Alycia Depew, Victoria Gomez, Melinda and Jessica Aguilera, Veronica Abarca, and Vanessa Zuniga; 5 great-nephews, Albert, Michael, and Steven Depew, Jose and Luis Abarca; 4 great-nieces, Genavieve and Gabriella Aguilera, Angelina Abarca, and Esmeralda Zuniga, as well as numerous cousins and friends. Debbie was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Victoria and Richard Gomez and maternal grandmother Maria Lemos Campos, all of Chino, CA. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the many hearts that she had touched. The family requests any fond memories of Debbie to be written and turned in at the funeral service for inclusion in the memory book. Debbie was taken too soon and will forever remain in our hearts.
