All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/obits/obitsca/obitsca.htm ********************************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com May 22, 2005, 5:46 pm The Bakersfield Californian Barnett, Norma Jean Gonzales 1955 - 2005 Norma Jean Gonzales Barnett April 9, 1955 - May 18, 2005 Recitation of the Rosary, followed by a celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial, will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Monday, May 23, 2005, at 10 a.m. for Norma Jean Gonzales Barnett, 50, who passed away May 18, 2005, in Bakersfield. Reverend Father Ralph Belloumini will be the Celebrant. Internment will follow at Union Cemetery. Norma Jean was born April 9, 1955, in Bakersfield, and had resided here all of her life. After graduating from Foothill High School, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a medical nurse for UCLA hospital. Norma was a fantastic mother and loved her children with all her heart and soul. She was taken away before her time. Norma loved to cook, dance, sing, and make jewelry, but most of all shop. She was a very strong and stubborn woman, but always had a heart of gold. We will never forget Norma Jean. Norma is survived by her children, Chad Eyraud and his wife, Denise, and their children, Craig and Kristin; daughter, Kelly Marie Barnett; brother, Ray Hernandez and wife, Diane; sister, Ernestine Harkey and husband, Dan; brother, Kelly Gonzales and wife, Susan; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Romain Barnett; and parents, Kelly F. and Mary O. Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Robert Valdez, Jr., Ray Hernandez, Jr., Christopher Colwell, Mike Harkey, Richard Hernandez, Jason and Brandon Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Fernandez, Barbara Rivas, and Pat Bates. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Esmail Nadjmadi, the staff of Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility, and the student nurses for the kind and compassionate care during her illness. They truly went the extra yard for her. They would also like to thank Betty Fernandez for her ongoing dedication in caring for Norma, along with Normas sister, Ernestine Harkey, and her husband for their dedication. The Hildebrand family is gratefully acknowledged for their love and support.
