Mary Elizabeth Green 
1925 - 2005 

Mary was born in Arkansas, on November 9, 1925. She grew up with two brothers 
and three sisters, moving to Bakersfield and graduating from Bakersfield High 
School. She lived most of her life in Bakersfield. She passed away in Bend, 
Oregon, where she moved with her son, Rick, three years ago. She was preceded 
in death by her husband, Tommy Green, in 1998. Mary and Tom had a restaurant 
for many years on Union Avenue called Marys Coffee Shop; it was a popular spot 
known for Marys personal touch and good home-cooked meals. Mary is survived by 
her son, Rick Jones, his wife, Judy and grandchildren, Rick, Shannon and 
Joshua; son, Mike Jones, his wife, Susan and granddaughters, Debbie and 
Stephanie; 9 great-grandchildren and sister, Ann Doland; as well as many 
nieces and nephews. Mary will be fondly remembered for her loving and giving 
nature and especially for her love of children. A graveside service will be 
held on Thursday, June 2, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 
River Blvd., Bakersfield.
